THE CLASS

For those interested in creating a process for working on language based material, particularly Shakespeare. ​

Explorations of the following tools;

​

- Physical approaches to speaking Verse

- Tools and techniques taught in traditional British Drama School training.

- Accessing Imagery in a tangible way

- Banishing Cliche from classical roles

- Improvisational techniques for organic   performance.

- Connection to the actor's "Core Truth"

- Voice -  Fitzmaurice Voicework, Stewart Pearce's "Alchemy of Voice"(​Master of Voice at the Globe under Mark Rylance)​​​​​​, and Roy Hart.​

- Monologues and speeches from the Shakespeare canon.

What you should be able to take away from this class is a way to connect with classical text on a deeper level, as well as some insight and coaching on a verse monologue.  If there is interest, it will be the first step toward a series of workshops developing a system of training for language based theatre. I will then offer other classes with excellent practitioners in order to train the body, voice, and imagination.​
